The 74th year of Indonesian Independence was celebrated by the Indonesian diaspora in California though Festival Indonesia. The festival was held by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Los Angeles in cooperation with the Indonesian Diaspora Network in Southern California on September 1, 2019 in Azusa Pacific University. Visitors were able to enjoy cuisines from different regions in Indonesia, watch cultural performances consisting of traditional dances and music like angklung and gamelan. The festival also featured Krisdayanti, an Indonesian singer and actress.
BNI New York also joined the festivities by opening a booth to meet with the Indonesian Diaspora in California and gave appreciation souvenirs for Indonesian citizens who opened a BNI Rupiah account with only their valid Indonesian ID.
